Person with disability I.D . This is an I.D card and booklet given to person with disability when all requirements are submitted to DSWD . This is very helpful to people who are with disability. I salute whoever  thought of this great idea . It's good that PWD card can be given  also to persons who are suffering from  chronic illnesses like cancer etc.  

 How to apply for a PWD card?
Just go to City hall, DSWD offce and give them true copy of   your medical records like medical abstract, biopsy etc, i.d.photo, barangay certificate, valid i.d, authorization letter if you have a representative.  You may also call DSWD first for the specific list of requirements needed . 

The privileges of PWD card is quite similar to Senior citizen card. However, you don't need to be 60 years old to get the PWD card. Young and old people with disability can apply for the PWD card. The holder of PWD card is entitled to discounts on medical & dental services, purchase of medicines, basic commodities, transportation etc.  There is also a special lane for PWD holder in supermarkets , Mrt and other government offices like SSS.  The card is valid for three years depending on your disability. So wonderful -when the government shows concern to people with disability.  This will surely put a smile on the face of a person with disability. Cheers !
